ANALISIS POTENSI SEKTOR PARIWISATA DALAM MENDUKUNG PEMBANGUNAN EKONOMI BERKELANJUTAN DI KABUPATEN SUMBAWA

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of the tourism sector to support sustainable economic development in Sumbawa District. The type of this study was descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The type of data used in this study was qualitative data obtained from secondary sources using the documentation method. The data analyzed in this study include Locally-Generated Revenue (PAD), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Sumbawa District, and the GRDP of West Nusa Tenggara Province, for the period of 2015–2024. Data analysis was conducted using chain index analysis, Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, and Shift-Share analysis. Based on the results of the data analysis, several conclusions were obtained, namely: 1) the PAD chain index from the tourism sector of Sumbawa District in 2015-2024 showed an increasing trend in recent years, which indicates the success of the regional government in exploring and optimally utilizing all the potential of the tourism sector in Sumbawa District as a source of PAD, 2) The results of the location quotient (LQ) analysis show that the tourism sector has specialized advantages compared to other economic sectors in the Sumbawa District area so that it has potential and is worthy of further development, 3) Shift-share analysis results indicate that the tourism sector possesses greater growth potential compared to other economic sectors in Sumbawa District, supported by its growth rate, high competitiveness, and positive contribution to regional revenue over the past ten years.
