This research aims to examine the Land Office Strategy in Improving the Effectiveness of Land Conflict Resolution in Sumbawa District. This study employs a descriptive research design. The type of data used in this research is qualitative data obtained directly from primary sources using structured interview methods. The informants who served as data sources in this study were all parties considered knowledgeable about the Land Office strategy in improving the effectiveness of land conflict resolution in Sumbawa District, consisting of key informants, main informants, and supporting informants. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative data analysis techniques by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this research indicate that the procedures or strategies of the Sumbawa District Land Office in handling and resolving land disputes are carried out through several stages: community complaints, data collection and analysis, mediation, and litigation/court proceedings. However, the effectiveness ratio of the Sumbawa District Land Office strategy in resolving land dispute issues falls into the "Less Effective" category, indicating that the role of the Sumbawa District Land Office as a mediator in resolving land conflicts in Sumbawa District has not been able to be implemented optimally. This is due to several obstacles faced, including: disputing parties preferring to obtain formal decisions that have formal precedent power, absence of one party or even both disputing parties, lack of good faith from each party to reconcile, and difficulties in combining the interests of the disputing parties.
